Marc Marquez has taken victory at Misano and completely reshaped the MotoGP title race. The Ducati rider controlled the San Marino Grand Prix to finish ahead of his brother Alex and Pedro Acosta.
The race took a dramatic turn in the opening stages when Marco Bezzecchi crashed out. Starting from pole after an impressive weekend, the Aprilia rider saw his home victory hopes disappear almost immediately, handing Marquez a major opportunity at the front.
From there, the Ducati rider remained composed and maintained his advantage. Behind him, Alex Marquez produced a strong and consistent performance to secure second, while Acosta completed the podium for KTM. Jorge Martin finished fifth, losing valuable ground in the championship battle.
The result is significant: Marquez moves level with Martin on 274 points at the top of the standings. After spending much of the season chasing the championship leader, he has now brought the fight right back to the final stages.
For Bezzecchi, Misano was a painful missed opportunity. For Marquez and Martin, meanwhile, the message is clear: the title fight is wide open, and there is little room for mistakes from this point onwards.
