Oscar Piastri took Spa and took home a crucial victory in a rain- and heat-ravaged Belgian Grand Prix. After a delay of over an hour due to the challenging track conditions, the race began behind the safety car and turned into a battle of control between the two McLarens. The Australian, starting from second place, made a decisive pass on Norris in the early stages and then held on to the lead. Norris attempted to close the gap in the finale, but a small mistake dashed his hopes. Behind them, Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari, who had a solid race, defended the podium until the final lap from Max Verstappen, who finished fourth. Lewis Hamilton put in a splendid comeback: starting 18th, he climbed to seventh place with decisive overtaking moves and a regained pace in the second half of the race. This was a crucial one-two for McLaren, consolidating their dominance in the championship, with Piastri continuing to dominate the lead and Norris trailing by just a few points. The championship now moves to Budapest for the Hungarian GP from August 1st to 3rd.
