When we signed it, I agreed with Aprilia that, if certain circumstances did not arise, I would reserve the right to decide my future for 2026. This was an essential condition for accepting the contract proposal they were offering me at the time. When I made the decision to change brands last year, one of my premises was to have the opportunity to test the bike in real circumstances and understand the harmony with the team and its working methodology. This way I could feel comfortable signing for two years instead of one, and for this reason we included this condition. Faced with the situation of having to make a decision on a date that was established for me in the contract, I decided to exercise my right to release myself for the 2026 season. I have always done so respectfully, clearly and with the sole intention of taking control. on my future as a professional athlete. Unfortunately, the circumstances that occurred as a result of the crashes, although it is true that they do not affect what was agreed, have nevertheless affected this phase. This is why I have always been open to dialogue with Aprilia to extend this period to a certain number of Grands Prix starting from my return to competition. All this with the aim of both parties being able to give each other a second chance and feel comfortable before making a decision in view of 2026. I have always been honest with Aprilia, I have appreciated the bike, the team and the effort of all the people who are part of the project. The only thing I ask is that my will and the spirit of what we agreed at the time with Aprilia be respected. There is no conflict or reproaches. I just want to be able to look forward with clarity, after having gone through very difficult times and a very serious injury, and continue to give the best of myself on and off the track. “Mi piacerebbe condividere con tutti gli appassionati/e, i media e le persone che seguono la mia carriera una spiegazione chiara sulla mia situazione con Aprilia. In nessun momento ho violato il contratto. Quando lo abbiamo firmato, ho concordato con Aprilia che, se non si fossero verificate determinate circostanze, mi sarei riservato il diritto di decidere il mio futuro per il 2026. Questa fu una condizione essenziale per accettare la proposta di contratto che mi offrivano in quel momento. Quando l’anno scorso ho preso la decisione di cambiare marca, una delle mie premesse era avere la possibilità di provare la moto in circostanze reali e comprendere la sintonia con il team e la sua metodologia di lavoro. In questo modo potevo sentirmi a mio agio firmando per due anni invece di uno, e per questo includemmo tale condizione. Di fronte alla situazione di dover prendere una decisione a una data che mi è stata stabilita da contratto, ho deciso di esercitare il mio diritto a liberarmi per la stagione 2026. L’ho sempre fatto con rispetto, in modo chiaro e con l’unica intenzione di prendere il controllo sul mio futuro come sportivo professionista. Purtroppo, le circostanze accadute come conseguenza delle cadute, sebbene sia vero che non influiscono su quanto accordato, hanno comunque condizionato questa fase. È per questo che sono sempre stato aperto al dialogo con Aprilia per estendere questo periodo a un numero determinato di Gran Premi a partire dal mio ritorno alla competizione. Tutto ciò con l’obiettivo che entrambe le parti possano darsi una seconda opportunità e sentirsi a proprio agio prima di prendere una decisione in vista del 2026. Sono sempre stato onesto con Aprilia, ho apprezzato la moto, il team e lo sforzo di tutte le persone che fanno parte del progetto. L’unica cosa che chiedo è che si rispetti la mia volontà e lo spirito di ciò che abbiamo concordato a suo tempo con Aprilia. Non c’è conflitto né rimproveri. Voglio solo poter guardare avanti con chiarezza, dopo aver passato momenti molto difficili e una lesione molto grave, e continuare a dare il meglio di me dentro e fuori dalla pista.
