The Dutch Ineos rider wins stage 14 solo after a spectacular breakaway. Pogacar strengthens his hold on the yellow jersey, but loses a rival: Remco Evenepoel retires after the Tourmalet.

Stage 14 of the 2025 Tour de France offers spectacular drama and dramatic action in the Pyrenees. Thymen Arensman takes victory on the Luchon-Superbagneres summit finish after a long breakaway, leaving everyone behind on the Col de Peyresourde. It’s Ineos’ first win of this Tour.

Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard finish behind him, competing in a sprint for second place that also earned the Slovenian a few seconds, as he continues to lead the general classification.

⛰️ Arensman’s feat

The Dutchman reached the summit alone on the Peyresourde, having made the difference in the final section of the climb. With an irresistible progression, he also earned valuable points for the Mountain Climbs classification. Behind him, the leading group only heated up in the final kilometers.

⚠️ Sensational: Evenepoel retires

Between rain, fog, and cold, the stage was extremely tough. Remco Evenepoel, third in the overall standings and wearing the white jersey, threw in the towel after losing contact on the Tourmalet. After consulting with the team car, the Belgian decided to retire, leaving a significant gap in the fight for the podium.
