Formula 1 returns to the track for the 17th round of the season, the Singapore Grand Prix, one of the most spectacular and challenging weekends on the calendar due to its night-time setting on the Marina Bay street circuit. As has become tradition in recent years, Italian television coverage will be provided by Sky Sport, which will broadcast the entire weekend live in full, and by TV8, a free-to-air channel that will show some key events for fans without a subscription.

All the weekend’s sessions will be broadcast live on Sky Sport F1 (channel 207): the two free practice sessions on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday, as well as the usual pre- and post-session analysis with technical commentary from Sky’s experts. The coverage will, of course, also be available via streaming on the Sky Go platform for subscribers and via Now, the on-demand streaming service that allows you to follow the entire World Championship even without a satellite dish, with dedicated sports packages.

For those who do not have a paid subscription, TV8 will broadcast Saturday’s qualifying session live on free-to-air television, thus allowing a wider audience to follow the battle for pole position. Sunday’s race, being a night-time Grand Prix in Singapore and therefore taking place in the afternoon/evening in Italy at times that requirecareful scheduling, will instead be broadcast by TV8 as a recorded programme, usually on the evening of the same Sunday or in prime time, so that all fans can still relive the race without necessarily having to watch it live on pay-TV.

The Singapore Grand Prix weekend has always presented a particular challenge both for the drivers – who have to cope with the heat, humidity and an extremely demanding street circuit featuring slow corners and closely spaced kerbs – and for television crews, who have to adapt their scheduling to time zones that are not always convenient for the Italian audience. Marina Bay remains, however, one of the most spectacular venues in the entire World Championship, with illuminated skyscrapers in the background and the evocative atmosphere of night-time races.

With this round, the season is now entering its crucial phase, with just a few races remaining to decide the standings in the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships. Italian fans will therefore have plenty of opportunities to follow every stage of the weekend, choosing between comprehensive coverage on Sky and Now or the free-to-air highlights offered by TV8, confirming once again the commitment to making Formula 1 accessible to as many viewers as possible.
